  my wife stood before me with some items in front of her.

  without a word, she emptied a large jar of mayonnaise and proceeded to fill the empty jar with rocks right to the top, rocks about 2" diameter, then asked me if the jar was full.

  i agreed that it was.. she then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them in to the jar.

  Watching Worlds Apart

  about a year ago i saw this movie for the first time.. and while watching it, most of the points showing how controlling the jw's are did not really stick out to me, (shunning,emotional abuse, etc.).

  but last night i was bored and watched it again, and wow was it amazing to me how strange this religion can be.. i find it somewhat amusing how long the wt mentality can remain in the subconscience unnoticed.. for example at the end when sarah attends the funeral of her good friend who died because of the no blood policy, her father walks up.

  and tells her that she is selfish for attending.

  and tells her that she is selfish for attending. I would have agreed with that 110% ,,, no question. But last night I was shocked that he said that to her, and she just throws that comment back into his face and walks away .

  Remember in star trek 2, the one with Khan and those little worms that enter the ears and grow on the brain ? I kinda was thinking that the

  belief and mind-controlling tactics of the jw's are very much like that.

  Has anyone else had a somewhat unconscience awakening perhaps years after leaving the witnesses ?

  is it just me, i have hit the booze quite heavily after leaving the borg, have now got it pretty much within my control now, but for a long time it did keep me from thinking about the crap that i have gone through!!.

  today's wt lesson: serving jehovah with all seriousness, excerpt from paragraph 11:.

  "if a brother has been baptized at least one year and to a reasonable degree meets the scriptural qualifications for ministerial servants outlined at 1 timothy 3:8-13, he can be recommended for appointment.".

  how often have you seen someone become a ministerial servant one year after baptism?

  i have a part this week about the june awake & watchtower.

  after reading some of the paragraphs in the watchtower, i have this opinion to share:.

  i really wish the wt would stop trying to teach witnesses about their biased views of history and economic theory.

  this is very difficult to write (forgive me for any spelling mistake, i am not a native english speaker).. i cannot tell my complete story on this board - i eventually will, once i have broken the last "link in the chain" that has kept me captive to the borg.

  i can't tell my story, because.....basically i will be known.....as a more or less "famous" jw..... i have been lurking this site for many years, wrote here under another name - this eventually was found out and i had to do "damage containment".

  i had to "go back" and tow the party line....all my family (extended and close) are witnesses, all my "friends" and even work & business relationships are jw.

  I 'm sorry about your current condition, but the one thing I kept thinking about while reading your story is this ::

  Wait until your 50, and you are still dealing with the same situation,, it does not get any easier, or less-stressful.
